The Bellefonte Area Chamber of Commerce was established in 1938 to promote the economic benefit of its members and the development of business in the Bellefonte area. Its service area was later expanded to include the Intervalley Area and now includes Bellefonte, Howard, and Milesburg Borough and the townships of Boggs, Curtin, Howard, Liberty, Benner, Marion, Spring, and Walker. Our membership is comprised of both small and large businesses located throughout Centre County who rely on the Chamber to provide economic development assistance, cooperative marketing opportunities, business promotions, referrals, and health insurance programs. In addition, the Chamber provides advocacy for its members and works closely with local community groups in helping to plan and promote activities which are geared at economic revitalization and development.
Located in the historic Train Station next to beautiful Talleyrand Park, the Chamber is a valuable asset to the Bellefonte Intervalley area. For information about becoming part of the Chamber, contact Executive Director Gary Hoover by calling 814-355-2917, or sending an email to

Bellefonte Named the Best Fly Fishing Town in Pennsylvania
Members of the Pennsylvania fly-fishing community at PaFlyFish.com resoundingly selected Bellefonte in a recent poll as the Best Fly-Fishing Town in Pennsylvania. The town was chosen not only for the close proximity to the many wonderful streams in the area, but its hospitality, shops, dining and accomodations. With a lodging named the Riffles and Runs Bead and Breakfast, how can this not be a wonderful fly fishing town? Anglers enjoy the world-class fly-fishing waters of Spring Creek that meanders through the town. Other prominent streams such as Penns Creek, Fishing Creek, Spruce Creek and the Little Juniata River are all in close proximity too. The mountain fed and limestone streams provide cool productive waters throughout the year that are a delight to fly fishing enthusiasts.
